Kansai International Airport is in the middle of renovation!
Kansai International Airport is currently undergoing its first large-scale renovation project since its opening in 1994. Following the opening of the first "New Domestic Area" in December 2022, the second phase, Phase 2, will be completed. As such, the international departure area has been reborn and opened on December 5, 2023!
In the new international departure area, the north and south immigration checkpoints are centrally located, allowing passengers to go through immigration procedures more smoothly. In addition to the walk-through duty-free store, there will be a central plaza area and four Mood areas, with 27 new stores opening.
Full opening is scheduled for 2026, and we will continue to provide our customers with a new travel experience.

The highlight of Phase 2 is the opening of Japan's largest international airport walk-through duty-free store.
We carry a wide variety of cosmetics, perfumes, alcoholic beverages, cigarettes, and standard souvenir sweets made in Japan, including brands that are making their first appearance at an airport duty-free store in Japan. Don't worry if you forget to buy souvenirs!
Enjoy shopping and gourmet food at a total of 27 shops and restaurants until just before boarding!
Inside the duty-free shop, you can order standard souvenir sweets using a special touch panel, and you can also pre-order duty-free products through the website, so you can make effective use of the limited time you have before boarding!
