A bonfire Noh performance will be held on the fantastic outdoor stage
Takiginou is a type of performance where Noh and Kyogen plays are performed in a fantastical atmosphere around bonfires lit in the twilight. You can casually enjoy the formal performance of this traditional Japanese performing art at the outdoor stage of Kawasaki Daishi Temple, which is nationally famous for warding off evil spirits.
What is Noh?
Noh is a traditional Japanese performing art that was established around the 14th century and is a form of musical drama centered on dance and music, in which performers act out stories wearing Noh masks and beautiful costumes.

What is Kyogen?
Kyogen is a type of traditional Japanese comedy performed during Noh plays. It is characterized by depicting the comical side and true nature of human beings through words and gestures, based on the everyday lives of ordinary people in the Middle Ages, and is characterized by evoking laughter.

Event Outline
Date: Tuesday, May 13, 2025
Time: Starts at 17:30 (doors open at 16:15)
Venue: Kawasaki Daishi Heikenji Temple Special Stage (In case of rain: Shinto Kaikan Hall)
In the event of rain, due to space limitations at the venue, only those who have purchased SS or S seat tickets will be allowed entry.
Schedule
The performance is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. and end at 8:20 p.m.
The doors will open at 4:15pm, and there will be a performance by the Kawasaki Children's Nohgaku School from around 4:30pm. Please come and take a look.
