Experience the charm of the Tokaido road traveled by travelers of the past through costume parades, traditional performing arts, and interactive events!

Tokaido Kawasaki Shukuba (Post Town) Matsuri Festival

What is Tokaido Kawasaki-Shuku?
The Tokaido was a highway built during the Edo period connecting Edo (present-day Tokyo) and Kyoto, and had 53 post towns known as the Fifty-three Stations of the Tokaido. Kawasaki-Shuku was the second post town established in 1623.
Costume Parade (11:00-12:30)

People dressed up in various costumes, including lords, princesses, samurai, travelers and monsters, parade down the old Tokaido road in a colorful Japanese Halloween parade.

Food and Drink Corner
Numerous food trucks and popular restaurants line the streets. Enjoy a wide variety of specialty flavors, including popular craft beers, Okinawa's Orion beer, jar-baked pizza, homemade sausages, juicy steaks, and seasonal sweets! Over 20 unique stores will gather on the waterfront, adding color to the Tama River in autumn!
Sports Experience Corner
A sports experience event with the professional basketball team Kawasaki Brave Thunders and the professional soccer team Kawasaki Frontale! It's an exciting event where you can casually enjoy basketball and soccer!
Stage Event
There will be traditional performing arts and live performances on the music stage! There will be a wide variety of events to enjoy all day long!
