Tochigi prefecture is located in the northern Kanto region, and is most famous for its city, Nikko, and Nikko Toshogu Shrine, a UNESCO World Heritage site.

But Tochigi also has many other charms, including amazing hot springs, the first school in Japan, historical villages, and even some nationally recognized sweets and sake. Tochigi is also rich in nature, which makes it a great place to visit all year round, and especially in the autumn when the fall colors come.
