With a drop of 105 meters, it is said to derive its name from the way it shines brightly in the direct light of the rising sun.
This waterfall flows over the cross-section of columnar joints, which are columnar cracks formed during the cooling and solidification process of lava. It is designated as a geosite within the Izu Peninsula Geopark.
Surrounded by lush greenery and refreshing spray, it's a popular summer retreat where you can experience a pleasant "natural coolness" even on hot summer days. Additionally, the area around the plunge pool is beautifully adorned with autumn foliage, which reaches its peak from early to mid-December.
It's only about a 1-minute walk from the parking lot to the waterfall! Even those using wheelchairs or strollers, or those with mobility issues, can get right up to the waterfall basin.
The area is illuminated year-round from sunset until 8:30 PM. Please enjoy the magical world that is so different from what you see during the day.

If traveling by car, take the Tomei Expressway to Numazu IC, then the Izu Izu Chuo, then the Izu Chuo Expressway, then the Shuzenji Road, then the Amagi Kita Road/Ohira IC, turn right at the Asahitaki Entrance traffic light (Ohira Community Center) on National Route 136, and continue for 200m.

Take the Tokai Bus from Shuzenji Station Izu (approximately 10 minutes), get off at Asahi bus stop, and walk for 4 minutes.
