What is Minoh?
A different world just 30 minutes by train from Hankyu Railway Osaka Umeda Station!
Meiji no Mori Minoh National Park and its surrounding areas are home to tourist attractions such as Minoh Falls, the only waterfall in Osaka Prefecture to be selected as one of Japan's 100 best waterfalls and said to be a power spot where the dragon god resides, and the Takimichi promenade leading to the waterfall. On the Takimichi trail, you'll find the ancient Ryuanji Temple , and Saikoji , a temple of good relationships, as well as a number of wonderful shops and restaurants.
In addition, the Kita-Osaka Kyuko Railway will be extended to Minoh Kayano Station in March 2024, making access to the eastern area even more convenient. This is a convenient way to get to Katsuo- ji Temple , the temple of good fortune.

During the event, various locations along the waterfall path in Minoh , including Minoh Falls, Ryuanji Temple, Saikoji , and Ichinohashi Bridge, will be lit up, creating a fantastic night with colorful lights that change with the seasons.

Since ancient times, Minoh has been a popular place for ascetic training for Shugendo monks. Behind this lies the legend that En no En-no-Gyoja , the founder of Shugendo, attained enlightenment in the dragon hole of Minoh Falls and ascended to heaven on Mount Minoh. A modern-day mountain ascetic competition will be held in Minoh, the holy land of Shugendo. By running up from Ryuanji Temple , the root training hall of Shugendo, to Minoh Falls , the holy land of Shugendo monks, you will be polished just like the ascetics who preceded you! 1.6km one way!! A whirlwind and raging run!! Who will win the first "En-no-Gyoja Cup"?

■In this event, participants will be running up hills, narrow roads, and in some places with poor road surfaces. In addition, supporters and general passersby will also be passing through the waterfall path at the same time. Staff will be stationed to ensure safety and direct traffic, but please read the terms and conditions posted on the Minoh City Tourism Association website carefully and participate at your own risk.

Date and time: Saturday, February 9th, 10:00am - 4:00pm
A public live broadcast of "Takki 816 Minoh FM" will be held in the square in front of Ryuanji Temple in Minoh .
The venue will be livened up with an Instagram broadcast of the Otaki Challenge Run and live music concerts.
*Radio and DJ programs will be broadcast entirely in Japanese.
