About Rurimoharimo

The word 'rurimoharimo' translates roughly as 'lapis lazuli and glass' - the concept being that both of these things shine beautifully when combined together.

All Rurimoharimo's accessories are made from sea glass found locally on the beaches of Oita prefecture. With each piece handmade and one of its kind, the parts used to make earrings, clips, etc. are made of materials that are gentle on the skin. 

Transforming discarded sea glass into unique accessories that shimmer in the sun, these items make for truly charming souvenirs.

Rurimoharimo creates a wide variety of earrings, but this series is the most coloruful. No colouring agents are used - only the natural hues of the sea glass!

Rurimoharimo's creations allow you to appreciate the endless textures and shades created entirely by nature!

The designs feature cherry blossoms and checked patterns typical to Japan, making them popular with overseas visitors.

Under the concept of an inclusive, anti-discrimination 'safe space', Space Beppu comprises a gift shop selling local crafts, an art gallery, a book cafe (reading zone), a photo gallery showcasing historical photographs, and a small English language school.
