What is the Northern Alps International Art Festival 2024?
The Northern Alps International Art Festival 2024 is an art festival held every three years in Omachi City, Nagano Prefecture, at the foot of the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route and Kurobe Dam. Making use of the nature and climate of Omachi City, 37 artists from 11 countries and regions are participating, using the entire city.
The event concept is based on water, wood, earth, and sky, and its appeal lies in the creation and exhibition of works that make use of the characteristics of each area in five distinctive areas of the city: the "City Area," "Dam Area," "Source Area," "Higashiyama Area," and "Ninna Sanko Area."

There are two ways to appreciate art.
If you think you can see more than 10 places, we recommend purchasing a passport!
You can purchase one book for 3,000 yen and see all the works (available until November 4th).

There are three bus routes that require advance reservations, and they run once in the morning and once in the afternoon.
If you take all three courses (which takes a day and a half), you can see most of the artworks outside of the city area.
If there are spaces available for advance reservations, you can board the bus by registering on the day (only available at the Information Center in front of Shinano-Omachi Station).
If you want to catch the morning flight, try stopping by around 8:30 AM.
There are many artworks within walking distance of Shinano-Omachi Station. (It takes about 1 to 2 hours.)
