GINZA KABUKIZA to fully introduce AI translation device "POCKETALK"

The Kabukiza Theatre has introduced the AI Translator “POCKETALK”, a two-way translation device for international customers inside the theatre and its shops as the number of visitors from overseas has been rising steeply.

With the portable translator, the Kabukiza Theatre hopes to break down the language barrier for international customers enabling them to access an extensive range of information on its theatre facilities easily, as well as to enjoy their cultural experience around the area to the full.

The new device offers simultaneous voice and text translation for 74 languages, including English, Chinese, Korean, Spanish and Italian among others, and text translation only for 11 languages. It will translate content from Kabukiza staff members or questions from international customers as audio and as text displayed on the device’s screen just with the push of a button.
