The art project "Lighting up the Sea Town - Lighting up a corner of Oarai" in Oarai Town, Ibaraki Prefecture will be held for two days only, on Saturday, October 5th and Sunday, October 6th, 2024, at Oarai Isosaki Shrine.

Oarai, located almost in the center of the Pacific coast of Ibaraki Prefecture, is a wonderful town full of attractions with a mild climate that is comfortable all year round, rich nature, beautiful scenery, and fresh seafood. The Oarai Isosaki Shrine, which enshrines the gods who reigned over the reef, is famous as a SNS spot together with the torii of Kamiiso floating in the Pacific Ocean. In addition, Japan's top-class aquarium "Aqua World Ibaraki Prefecture Oarai Aquarium", two attractive beaches "Oarai Sun Beach" and "Oarai Kaigan" where you can swim and play on the seashore, Oarai where you can see a large panorama from a height of 55m. There are plenty of sightseeing spots that you can fully enjoy, such as the symbol "Oarai Marine Tower"! You can enjoy fresh seafood such as Oarai specialties such as "raw whitebait" that can only be tasted in the production area, "monkfish" that was loved by the shogun, rock oysters, and clams.

The Oarai Isosaki Shrine light-up event, which was a huge success in 2023, will be held again in 2024.
■Date and time: October 5th (Sat) and 6th (Sun), 2024
■Time: 17:00-20:00
*Admission is free.
*The event will be cancelled in the event of bad weather.
*Free parking.
Oarai Isosaki Shrine, where the light-up event will be held, has a wonderful view of the ocean from its grounds, and is famous as a photogenic spot for social media along with the "Kamiiso no Torii" that floats in the Pacific Ocean. Please come to Oarai Isosaki Shrine on the day.

On the day of the event, we will also be holding "outdoor yoga" and "making your own original plum wine," experiences that can only be experienced in Oarai!
The following special experience tours will be available only on the day of the event:
- "Wellness Resort Program (Outdoor Yoga)": A program that allows you to experience deep relaxation in the rich natural environment of Oarai Beach.
・"Make your own original plum wine": Experience making a special plum wine made by a long-established plum brewing and sales company founded in 1830. Details will be announced on the "Oarai Tourism Association" website after Saturday, September 14th.

From Oarai Station, take the Oarai Kaiyu bus for about 15 minutes and get off at the "Oarai Isosaki Jinja Shita" bus stop.
