The Tokoname Tourist Information Center has launched "HELLO CYCLING," a shared electric-assist bicycle service, starting July 15th (Wednesday)!

What is HELLO CYCLING?

The Tokoname Tourist Information Center has launched "HELLO CYCLING," a shared electric-assist bicycle service, starting July 15th (Wednesday)! The introduction of this shared electric-assist bicycle service will allow you to easily travel to surrounding areas that are a bit far to reach on foot, starting from the Tokoname Tourist Information Center. Enjoy walking along the Pottery Footpath, and then use the electric-assist bicycles to get around...

◆The "Ceramics Culture Area" includes INAX Live Museum, Tokoname Ceramic Forest, and Tokoname no-Eki Tokoname-yaki Yamatane.

◆Rinku area, including Rinku Beach and Aeon Mall Tokoname

◆Even in the Tokoname town of Tokoname, including the "Southern Area" with Morita Ajinoyakata and Cocoterrace Hill, there are now areas where you can easily enjoy touring with electric assist bicycles! Why not venture a little further than usual and enjoy exploring Tokoname by bicycle?

◆Operating hours: 24 hours

◆Rates: 100 yen for 15 minutes, 1,200 yen for up to 12 hours

◆Helmets: Free rental available at Tokoname Tourist Information Center (9:00 AM - 4:30 PM)

About using the shared bicycle service

◆The shared bicycle service is limited to "one bicycle per account (one smartphone)." Please note that you cannot use the service if you do not have a smartphone.

◆The use of the shared bicycle service is prohibited for those under 145cm in height. *As stated in the terms of service.

◆Please be sure to return your bicycle to the port at the Tokoname Tourist Information Center.

INAX MUSEUMS is a museum of clay and pottery located in Tokoname City, Aichi Prefecture, the town of the Six Ancient Kilns of Japan. ​We offer dynamic activities that allow visitors to enjoy, learn, and play using all five senses. It consists of 6 museums: ``Kiln Plaza'', ``Tile Museum Tile Museum' ', ``Architectural Terracotta Museum Museum' ', ``Clay Works'', ``Tiling Workshop LIXIL Ceramics Lab''. We are developing activities that convey culture, beauty, and fun.

Tokoname Tou no Mori Museum

The Tokoname Tou no Mori Museum consists of three facilities: a museum, a research institute, and a training studio. It operates under the ideology of ""promoting and passing down Tokoname ware while creating and disseminating ceramic culture."" In the permanent exhibition room, you'll find pots and large-scale products that tell the history of Tokoname displayed in an easy-to-understand manner. There are also tools that have been passed down through the creativity and skills of local potters. In addition, seasonal exhibitions are held in the special exhibition room. The main entrance, which is inspired by the inside of a kiln, exudes a mighty presence and is very eye-catching. Admission is free.

Town Station Tokoname -yaki Yamatane is a complex facility based on the concept of "See, Make, Learn, Buy," offering the largest Toyotomi of Tokoname-yaki products of any Tokoname retailer, three courses of pottery classes, and even sales of Tokoname's specialty products. There is a large parking lot, and a giant 3m-tall beckoning cat is the landmark at the entrance. <Yamatane Pottery Class> Contents: Electric potter's wheel (11 units), hand-building, painting (beckoning cat, mug, soba cup, plate) Price: Electric potter's wheel course: 3,850 yen, Hand-building course: 1,980 yen, Painting course: 1,430 yen *All prices include tax. Production time: 30 minutes to 3 hours. Capacity: Maximum 130 people (hand-building and painting), 260 people on a shift system *Others are available upon request.
