Wake Ugaidani Onsen (Wake Ugaidani Hot Spring) is one of the few facilities in southern Okayama Prefecture where you can enjoy natural hot springs. The cuisine, which incorporates seasonal ingredients, is also popular, and the menu, which allows you to enjoy the flavors of the season and local produce, is highly regarded, including a special kaiseki meal available only to overnight guests and a wide variety of lunch options.

This hot spring facility boasts an excellent location, approximately 5 minutes by car from JR Wake Station and 10 minutes from the Sanyo Expressway Wake Interchange. It also features conference rooms and banquet halls, making it convenient for company and school meetings and training sessions. Activity facilities such as a heated swimming pool and tennis courts are located nearby.


The hot spring water, which gushes from 1,500 meters underground, is unusually hot for Okayama, with a source temperature of 34.5 degrees Celsius (40.0 degrees Celsius at the point of use). The water is an alkaline simple spring with a high pH of 9.5, giving it a smooth, silky feel on the skin. The sulfur-containing water is said to be good for neuralgia, joint pain, and muscle pain, attracting many visitors from outside the prefecture. Both men's and women's baths include spacious indoor baths, rustic rock-built open Open-air Bath, sauna, and herbal baths.
*Guests can use the facilities as many times as they like during their stay (from 11:00 PM to 11:00 PM / from 5:00 AM).
*Day-use hours are 9:00 AM to 10:00 PM (reception until 9:00 PM). Adults: 800 yen, Children: 450 yen, Infants: 250 yen.

The hotel is popular with business travelers as well. The fact that it has a natural hot spring is a major attraction.
The 20 Japanese-style rooms offer a tranquil atmosphere and come in three types: a 10-tatami mat room for four people, a 12-tatami mat room for five people, and a 15-tatami mat room for six people.


There are six Western-style rooms with twin beds. Bedrooms have become popular with elderly guests lately.

There are three Japanese-Western style rooms, each featuring a bed in a tatami room. These rooms offer a spacious and relaxing atmosphere, combining the best of both Japanese and Western styles.

The photo shows the "Okayama Bizen Beef Kaiseki," a special menu item available only to guests (the photo is of the 30th anniversary special menu, which will be offered until the end of October 2026).

The menu is luxurious, featuring Bizen beef, known for its high-quality fat and tender, flavorful meat, prepared as sukiyaki, roast beef, and nigiri sushi, as well as colorful dishes served in small bowls and on palettes, freshly fried tempura, fruits, and sweets.

The seasonal "Shiki Kaiseki (Four Seasons Kaiseki)) using fresh, seasonal ingredients, and the "Shunsai Kaiseki" (seasonal kaiseki) which can be enjoyed in any season, are available for order even for non-guests.

The breakfast lineup includes items like tamagoyaki (rolled omelet), grilled fish, tsukudani (simmered seafood/vegetables), mentaiko (spicy cod roe), and fish paste products, making it a breakfast that will make you want to eat rice from the morning. The rice is "Asahi Rice," a representative brand of rice from Okayama .

This restaurant serves as the venue for breakfast and dinner for guests staying at the hotel. Large windows let in plenty of natural light, creating a bright and open atmosphere. The lunch menu, which includes set meals, rice bowls, noodles, and multi-course meals, is also popular, and many guests use it before or after visiting the hot springs for a day trip.

The popular "Nagomi-zen" lunch set comes in a basket containing six dishes. It includes sushi made with Asahi rice, sashimi of fresh fish sourced from the local market, a simmered assortment of vegetables and fish cakes, tempura, a small side dish, fruit, as well as chawanmushi (steamed egg custard) and miso soup, making it a truly satisfying meal.

This heated swimming pool, bathed in bright sunlight, features a 25-meter pool (5 lanes for general use, 1 lane for walking) and a children's pool. It is open year-round, and the side windows can be opened during warmer months. Swimming caps are required. Mesh caps, goggles, and earplugs are also available for purchase. Adults: 500 yen (2 hours), Junior high school students and younger: 250 yen (2 hours), Children under 2 years old: Free. Closed on Wednesdays.

There are four open tennis courts in total. They are Omni courts, which are artificial grass with sand infill, so they have good drainage and are resistant to rain, making them ideal for playing even in light rain. One court costs 500 yen (per hour). Lighting is also available (400 yen/hour), making it a popular choice for weekday evening use after work.

This shop was renovated in the fall of 2025. With its playful interior design, including a noren (curtain) reminiscent of a public bathhouse, rattan flooring, tiled walls, and wooden buckets on display, it's a place you can't help but stop by. Opening hours are 7:00 to 20:00.

The most popular item at the shop is " Onsen Daifuku ," a mochi filled with smooth red bean paste made from Tamba Dainagon adzuki beans and fresh cream. There's also "Fuji Komachi," a white bean paste confection inspired by the wisteria, the flower of Wake Town. Other items on display include original goods from a carp streamer manufacturer headquartered in Wake Town, craft beer from Wake Town, and "Wake Alps T-shirts" that can only be bought here.
