Murodo and Mikurigaike Pond

Mikurigaike Pond can be reached on foot from Murodo Station.
This volcanic lake was formed approximately 10,000 years ago, and on clear days, you can enjoy the beautiful scenery created by the blue sky and majestic mountains reflected on the lake's surface. In autumn, you can also see the beautiful autumn scenery as the colorful autumn leaves paint the lake's surface.

The rock ptarmigan, the prefectural bird of Toyama Prefecture and a national special natural monument that inhabits the Northern Alps, lives in Takayama above 2,000 meters and is one of the representative animals of Tateyama. They can sometimes be seen around Murodo. If you're lucky, you might be able to observe the adorable rock ptarmigan up close.

Mount Taikanbo

From Mount Taikanbo, at an altitude of 2,316m, you can enjoy a panoramic view of magnificent natural scenery, including Kurobe and the Tateyama range.
At the "Cloud Terrace" observation deck located in Mount Taikanbo, you can relax in a spacious area while enjoying the panoramic views of the surrounding landscape.

From the ropeway connecting Mount Taikanbo and Kurobe daira, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the magnificent scenery, including the vast slopes of Mount Taikanbo, Kurobe, and the Tateyama range. Kurobe

The Kurobe was completed in 1963 and is located in the Northern Alps at an altitude of 1,454m. At 186m high, it is the tallest dam in Japan.

Every year from summer to autumn, the dam holds a spectacular water release for tourists, and the powerful sight of the water cascading down is truly breathtaking. It's a must-see sight if you visit Kurobe!

Another highlight is Kurobe, an artificial lake created by the completion of the dam. Visitors can enjoy the scenery created by the beautiful lake surrounded by mountains and the majestic Kurobe.
