Miyagi Travel Guide
Miyagi prefecture sits on the Pacific coast of Honshu, in the Tohoku region. The capital, Sendai, is home to Sendai Castle, a castle that was first built in the 17th century for famed lord Date Masamune, and many other historic and modern sites, while Ishinomaki, the port city, is returning to normal following the March 2011 earthquake and tsunami that devastated the coastal area.
