Fujiten Resort, a ski resort on Mount Fuji, will open for summer season from May 3rd!

Fujiten is a ski slope on Mount Fuji, located about 90 minutes by car from Tokyo and Kanagawa. From early May to late October, you can enjoy a variety of outdoor sports. This time, we will introduce recommended activities that you can enjoy at Fujiten during the summer season.

What is Fujiten Resort?

Fujiten is a ski slope on Mount Fuji, located about 90 minutes by car from Tokyo and Kanagawa.

During the green season, which runs from early May to late October, you can enjoy mountain biking, summer slopes, various activities, mountain carts, and on-slopes BBQs on the grass slopes.

In the winter season, it is a full-scale ski resort where you can enjoy skiing and snowboarding with the majestic Mt. Fuji in the background. There are seven courses that can be enjoyed by beginners to advanced skiers, and there is also a "Snow Park" with a wide variety of items. At "Chibikko Ai Land (For sleds & snow play area)" dedicated to playing in the snow and sledding, you can enjoy sledding to your heart's content without worrying about anyone.

① Mountain bike

Supervised by professional MTB rider Taiki Takahashi, the resort offers a variety of authentic courses that will satisfy even advanced riders, such as "Little Whistler," which features a series of big jumps. There are also courses that are easy for beginners to ride, such as "Grasshopper," which runs down a grassy slope. Rental bikes are available in a variety of grades, so anyone can easily try it out.

②Slope BBQ (reservations required)

It's a day-camp style BBQ using a kamaboko-shaped tent and a high-performance burner grill set up on the slope. All the equipment needed for a BBQ is provided, and you can enjoy it empty-handed as you can pre-order ingredients in advance. The food sets you can order are hearty sets made with local ingredients, including Fujizakura pork. There is also a kids' set, making it perfect for families.

③Mountain cart

Mountain carts are three-wheeled carts that can be operated with just a handle and brake, and are an activity that can be experienced without any difficult knowledge or experience. In winter, the longest dynamic course (1,300m) in the Fujiten course, which is used as a slope for beginners and intermediate skiers, is used to provide a new sensation of racing down the grass course while experiencing the nature at the foot of Mt. Fuji.

④Green Sports

■ Pokkal

It is a mini bike-like item with a seat, handlebars, and brakes on top of three in-line tires, and you slide down the slope like you're sledding. Anyone from children to adults can try it.

■ Running bike

A pedal-less practice bike for children. Also known as a "training bike," it is excellent for children to develop a sense of balance unique to bicycles. (For children aged 2 to early elementary school students)

■Glass skiing

It's a sport where you glide across grass using caterpillar-shaped boards. The basic controls are almost the same as regular skiing, but because the boards cannot slide sideways like in snow skiing, you can gain a solid grasp of the basics while you ski.

■Mountain board

Mountain board (without handle)

The summer version of snowboarding. It is popular among those who want to enjoy snowboarding in the summer in the side-on style (riding sideways), and is also used as a form of training.

Since it is a four-wheeled vehicle with a handlebar and brakes, even women and small children can ride it easily.

⑤Summer slopes

A summer slope where you can enjoy skiing and snowboarding with a feeling similar to that of being on snow, even in summer.

The course is approximately 300m long, with a maximum gradient of 15 degrees and an average gradient of 12 degrees, making it wide and allowing you to ski at a leisurely pace.

There is also a wide selection of ski and snowboard rentals available, so you can easily enjoy skiing and snowboarding even in the summer.
