About 200 Yoshino cherry trees are planted on both sides of the approximately 750m street. Mt. Kaikoma can be seen from time to time through the cherry blossom-colored tunnel, making for a beautiful sight.
Mahara Cherry Blossom Tree Line
Mukawacho Yamataka, Hokuto, Yamanashi 408-0306
This row of cherry trees runs along the side of the road in the pastures of the Sanehara district of Takekawa Town, creating a tunnel of cherry blossoms stretching for about 750 meters.

It began when settlers in the 1950s planted Yoshino cherry trees in the 1960s in hopes of developing the land. When the cherry blossoms are in full bloom, you can take a leisurely stroll through the snowstorm while admiring the remaining snow on the Southern Alps, including Mount Kaikoma. Pheasants also live nearby, so if you're lucky, you might even spot the national bird.
