Gajiro the kappa from Fukusaki Town, Hyogo Prefecture, is unstoppable. 2024 marks the 10th anniversary of Gajiro's discovery and capture. Gajiro provides us with news almost every month, and this time he has been made into a can of drops that would make a great souvenir. They will go on sale at Fukusaki Town Tourism Exchange Centers (Station Front Tourism Exchange Center, Tsujikawa Tourism Exchange Center) and other locations from Saturday, July 6, 2024, and will be priced at 500 yen each (tax included).

The can features the design that won the grand prize in the "Gajiro Drawing Contest" commemorating the 10th anniversary of Gajiro's birth, and features Gajiro approaching like in a Showa-era monster movie, along with the town's official mascots, "Fuku-chan and Saki-chan," looking frightened, and on the back is a brief biography of Professor Kunio Yanagita, the father of folklore studies.

The drops come out with a satisfying clinking sound and are soda flavored.
Why not pick one up as a memento of your trip to Fukusaki Town?
