Lake Inawashiro is located on the west side of Koriyama City. It is the fourth largest lake in Japan and is also designated as part of Bandai Asahi National Park. The construction of the Asaka Canal, which draws water from Lake Inawashiro, which was carried out in the early Meiji period, led to the flourishing of agriculture, commerce and industry, and Koriyama City achieved astonishing growth.
Photogenic "Konanmachi " with breathtaking views
Located on the south side of Lake Inawashiro, about 45 minutes by car from JR Koriyama Station or 30 minutes on the Ban'etsu West Line, is Konan Konanmachi , Koriyama City City. Mount Bandai can be seen across the lake, making it a photogenic place with a magnificent view.
① Nunobiki Wind Plateau
You can take photos of the 1.8 million sunflowers blooming in full bloom and the 33 impressive windmills. You can also enjoy the view of Lake Inawashiro from an altitude of 1,000m!

*The area gets very crowded during events (Nunobiki Kaze no Kogen Festival/late August) and during peak viewing times. There are no toilets or convenience stores nearby, so please prepare in advance before heading out.
②Lake Inawashiro
Lake Inawashiro on the Konanmachi side has gentle waves, so you can enjoy activities like SUP, kayaking, and yoga. Cycling while looking at the lake surface is also recommended! Take some memorable photos with the spectacular view in the background.

STEP 1: By train: Take the JR East Ban'etsu West Line from JR Koriyama Station for about 30 minutes and get off at Jōko Station.
STEP 2: Take the Aizu Bus from Kamito Station for about 35 minutes, get off at Nakahama, and then walk for 6 minutes.
