2 Ways to Get from JR Namba Station to the OCAT Bus Terminal

After enjoying sightseeing in Osaka, including Universal Studios, Tsutenkaku, and Osaka Castle, I arrived at JR Namba Station just in time for the bus to depart. I quickly left the JR Namba Station exit (ticket gate) on the first basement floor, but I didn't know how to get to the OCAT bus terminal. As the bus departure time approached, my mind went blank and my anxiety grew.

About OCAT Bus Terminal

OCAT (Osaka City Air Terminal) is the largest bus terminal in western Japan and is directly connected to JR Namba Station. It also houses offices, restaurants, and shopping facilities.

From the bus terminal on the second floor, you can find limousine buses to Kansai International Airport and Osaka(Itami) Airport, as well as intercity express buses that go from Sendai in the north to Kumamoto in the south.

On the rooftop, there is a rooftop garden with approximately 10,000 plants of 200 species of perennial herbs such as lavender and rosemary, and trees, serving as a place of relaxation for citizens as an "urban oasis."

OCAT is also a frequent venue for music performances, and the outdoor Ponte Square is a place where Osaka's young street dance community comes to practice and socialize.

How to get to OCAT Bus Terminal from JR Namba Station Using the Escalator

Here are directions from the JR Namba Station exit (ticket gate) on the basement floor to the OCAT bus terminal on the second floor using the escalator.

When you arrive at JR Namba Station, head to the JR Namba Station exit (ticket gate) on the first basement floor. You can get to the exit (ticket gate) by using any of the elevators: stairs, escalators, or elevators. There is only one exit (ticket gate).

After exiting JR Namba Station (ticket gate) on the 1st basement floor, turn left.

You will see a hanging sign directing you to the OCAT Bus Terminal on the second floor. Follow the sign and take the escalator up to the first floor.

Take the escalator to the first floor and turn left.

You will see an escalator leading to the OCAT Bus Terminal on the second floor. Take that escalator up to the OCAT Bus Terminal on the second floor. If you have time before your bus, we recommend enjoying some gourmet food at the restaurant area on the fifth floor to make a memorable final memory of your trip.

Upon arriving at the OCAT bus terminal on the second floor, you'll find automatic ticket machines for buses to Kansai International Airport and Osaka(Itami) Airport. If you're in a hurry, buy your ticket quickly and board the bus. However, please note that only cash is accepted, so be prepared. Also, be aware that you may not be able to board the bus once it reaches full capacity.

If you turn right and make a U-turn, you will come to a manned bus ticket booth. If you are purchasing intercity tickets, please purchase them at this booth.

How to get to OCAT Bus Terminal from JR Namba Station Using the Elevator

Here are directions from the JR Namba Station exit (ticket gate) on the basement floor to the OCAT bus terminal on the second floor using the elevator.

When you arrive at JR Namba Station, head to the JR Namba Station exit (ticket gate) on the first basement floor. You can get to the exit (ticket gate) by using any of the elevators: stairs, escalators, or elevators. There is only one exit (ticket gate).

When you exit JR Namba Station (ticket gate) on the first basement floor, take the elevator you see on your left in front of you and get off on the first floor. There is no entrance to the second floor, so be sure to get off on the first floor.

Once you reach the first floor, turn right and then immediately left.

Turn right at the end of the road.

Please go straight.

You will see an escalator on your right leading to the OCAT Bus Terminal on the second floor, but continue straight ahead.

Turn right at the hanging sign directing you to the elevator leading to the OCAT Bus Terminal on the 2nd floor.

Take the elevator and get off on the second floor to reach the OCAT bus terminal. If you have time before your bus, we recommend relaxing on the rooftop garden while enjoying the view. In addition, the restaurant area on the fifth floor has a selection of restaurants where you can enjoy gourmet food that will be a perfect last memory of your trip.

Get off the elevator and go straight ahead on your left.

You will see an escalator on your right. Near there you will find automatic ticket machines for Kansai International Airport and Osaka(Itami) Airport. Things to Do at OCAT While Waiting for Your Bus

OCAT has a variety of stores and spaces where you can spend your time fruitfully while waiting for the bus.

In the rooftop garden, you can relax on a bench and relive the afterglow of your trip. Families with children who live nearby sometimes come to play.

The restaurant area on the 5th floor offers a variety of cuisine that can be enjoyed by people of all ages and nationalities. However, some restaurants are occasionally booked for private events, so it's a good idea to check in advance.

If you take the escalator from the OCAT bus terminal on the second floor down to the first floor, you will find a souvenir shop. You can easily buy souvenirs that you forgot to buy on your way out.
