Located about a 5-minute bike ride from Nagoya Station, "Nagoya Campus," a renovated former elementary school, features a "Charichari" port in the schoolyard and a co-working space that doesn't require reservations. It's a convenient facility for getting around during the Asian Games or for taking breaks from work.

""Charichari"" is a bicycle sharing service that allows you to unlock a special red bicycle with a smartphone app and use it easily. Basic bicycles cost 7 yen per minute, and electric assist bicycles cost 17 yen per minute. We aim to provide an experience that allows you to ride whenever and wherever you want. The service began in Fukuoka in February 2018, and has grown to include approximately 3,000 bicycles and over 630 bicycle parking ports, with a cumulative total of over 16 million uses. In addition, the service will be expanded to Nagoya and the Tokyo area from 2020, and will begin in Kumamoto City in April 2022. With per-minute pricing and an easy-to-use app, our service is primarily used for everyday trips in each area.
A former elementary school becomes a new workplace in Nagoya. Drop in to "Nagoya Campus" by "Charichari".
Shared bicycles allow users to freely rent and return bicycles at multiple rental and return points (share cycle ports) located within an area. Our company also operates a service called "Charichari" ( "Charichari" below) at four locations: Fukuoka, Nagoya, Tokyo, and Kumamoto . It is being used as a new means of urban transportation that allows people to easily get around anytime, anywhere.
From September 19th to October 4th, 2026, the Asian Games will be held in Aichi and Nagoya. With venues spread throughout the prefecture and city during these 16 days, both visitors to Nagoya and those working in Nagoya will likely find themselves moving around the city more than usual.
The place we're introducing today is "Nagono Campus," located in Nagoyano, Nishi Ward , about a 5-minute bike ride from Nagoya Station. It's a facility that completely renovated the building of a closed elementary school, and there's a "Charichari" port on the grounds. In addition, there's a co-working space that can be used on a daily basis without reservations. It's the perfect place for those who want to "get a little work done in between traveling."

The Nagoya Campus is located in Nagoyano 2-chome, Nishi Nishi Ward , Nagoya City . It's about an 8-minute walk northwest from the Sakuradori Exit of Nagoya Station, and about a 9-minute walk from Kokusai Center Station on the Sakuradori Subway Line. It's in an area that retains the atmosphere of old Tokyo despite being very close to Nagoya Station.
The building is the Nagoya Municipal Nagoyano Elementary School, founded in 1909 (Meiji 42). Due to the declining birthrate, the school closed in 2015 after 106 years of history, but in October 2019 it was reborn as "Nagoya Campus." The concept it embodies is "Open, Mix, and Be Born." It tells the story of a school that has been loved by the community for 100 years becoming a school that nurtures industries for the next 100 years.
Currently, the building houses businesses from a diverse range of industries, from startups to new business development teams at large corporations. Some rooms were formerly classrooms and have been converted into offices, with blackboards and lockers still remaining.
▶︎Points to note: The school building utilizes the structure of the old school building, so there is no elevator. The drop-in coworking space is located on the first floor, so you can use it without having to go up or down stairs.
After work, I head to the town of Nagoyano-Endoji.
On the first floor of the Nagono Campus is a Japanese-style cafe and restaurant called "yoake." It's open from 8:00 AM and closes at 5:00 PM on weekdays (including holidays) and 6:00 PM on weekends. They serve breakfast from 8:00 AM, so you can use it for a drink before work.
And this is where the true charm of the Nagoyano area begins. Shikemichi, a street that retains the layout of the Edo period, is just a few minutes' walk away. Endoji Shopping Street is also nearby, and is home to famous shops such as "Kissaten Matsuba," said to be the oldest coffee shop in Nagoya, and "Shorodo," a Japanese confectionery shop founded in 1877.
If you ride a "Charichari", it takes about 15 minutes to reach Nagoya Castle. You can also extend your trip from there to the Cultural Path and Tokugawa Garden (this route is also introduced in our media article " From Endoji Shopping Street to the Cultural Path and Tokugawa Garden ").
▶︎Key Point: Rent a bicycle at "Nagoya Campus (South)" first thing in the morning, cruise around Shikemichi, and get some work done as soon as it opens at 10am. In the evening, rent another one and have a drink at Endoji. The advantage of this location is that you can come and go from the same spot to the city multiple times.
In Nagoya, where the Asian Games are being held, it's convenient to get around using shared bicycles.
The Asian Games will be held from Saturday, September 19th to Sunday, October 4th, 2026. With venues spread out over a wide area, travel between stations and between venues will inevitably increase.
It's not as long as changing trains, but it's a little too far to walk. "Charichari" excels at filling that "just right" gap. The basic rate is 7 yen per minute, and electric-assist bikes are 17 yen per minute. Since it's charged by the minute, you don't have to worry about using it even if you only want to ride for 5 minutes.
During the tournament, the city is expected to be crowded. If you need to "get a few hours of work done before or after watching the games" or "attend just one online meeting in a quiet place," please consider using Nagoya Campus, which is just a 5-minute bike ride from Nagoya Station. You can return the bike on the school grounds, get some work done, and then rent another one to head out into the city. We hope you'll be able to move around Nagoya with ease.
